Aspen and pine landscape

Aspen and pine landscape
Still snow on the ground north of where I live. These are quaking aspen, one of my favorite trees. The leaves flutter and sparkle in the wind and are bright yellow in the Fall.

They are a pretty sight. How lucky to see British Columbia, one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth! I have been up there twice, but it was many years ago.

Populous tremuloides or quaken aspen...they are not at all common here, neither in the North..
So nice to meet these slender , silvery (in the winter) trees in your beautiful capture!!
:-)
Ciao Diane!

Grazie mille, Bea! I just love them. Pine trees are so dark and reflect very little light, so it's very nice to see these against all of the green-black.

I really like this shot Diane...........those aspen trees are just lovely - they look so delicate without leaves and the branches make magical shapes.

Thanks, Keith! They always make me think of my grandmother, who adored them.

Something in the back of my mind tells me that these trees are a major source of pollen allergy, but I could be wrong. Nice shot, anyhow!

I'm not sure about these. Maybe. But, my real nemeses are the evil junipers and their nasty little side-kicks, willow and pine. Oh, wait...that's our government!

Just looked it up. Quaking aspen is considered a Moderate allergen. Juniper and willow, Severe. Oh, great!

"Aspens in Winter": lovely ... the aspens and pines are a nice contrast ... and that fence really anchors the foreground ...

(thanks for the link to this shot)

Ahhh, so the Birkenstock shoe company is Birchstock! Wow, my brain just exploded. Anyway, these look like birch trees, but they aren't. oregonforests.org/tree/quaking-aspen. They are all over North America, especially higher altitudes. You wouldn't want to import them to Europe because they sprout new stems from the roots, thus becoming invasive.
