Editing problems*

*This happens with all editing applications/websites I use (befunky, ipiccy, picmonkey, pixlr). Where it's white above, there is the checkerboard "transparent" area before I save it. I never know when it will happen, maybe the first use of an effect, maybe the 10th time I add an effect (or layer). It's my computer, otherwise it wouldn't happen on every editing application/website I use. Anybody have any ideas about what might be the problem?

(Everything else works fine, such as downloading and viewing photos, uploading here and other photo sites, Youtube, movies, streaming...)

See PiP for one I did showing the checkerboard, which is the original part. The b&w part is what I wanted the entire thing to be.

I'll take a wild guess that it might have to do with file sizes and memory.

I thought that as well. Solution(?): First downsize the image to the publishing format, and then start the post processing.

But yes, it must be a local issue on the computer, having too little RAM memory or something...

Thank you, gentlemen! Tiabunna and Sami, I will try that angle and see if it helps. Keith, I don't either! Ha! That checkerboard drives me nuts.

I have never heard of any of the editing sites you mention so I am the last person to offer anyone advice. I use the limited (and free) Picasa 3 but I try and use it sparingly and it is all I ever need. Some might say I need to be a bit more adventurous!

So do I, it drives me crazy! For the past two days, however, it has not been a problem. Maybe it will heal itself. That is usually my solution for everything.
