Red "stuff," eh? My childhood steps and front porch were painted a dull brick color, as I recall. I didn't have to do it myself, but I would have enjoyed that! Thanks, Pam.

The name came back to me.. Red Lead... as in red leading (pronounced Led) the steps otr the hearth. It was a dull brick red like you said !
