Why didn't I fix these things? I was in college. It cost $25. I had no other money!
Many years later I met a man my age who'd had an Anglia about the same time, also in college. He had exactly the same issues. We kept a whole dinner party entertained with our outrageous Anglia stories. Personally, I think a GI pulled a bunch out of ponds in England and shipped them to the USA to sell to young, dumb students. Thanks to that Anglia and the 1949 Chevy panel van I drove for a few months, I can drive anything.
