"It's kind of short, Grandma."
My answer was, "Yep."
She had a friend chop her hair off, against her mother's firm wishes. This caused a big uproar at her house. There is no exaggerating how terrible her hair looked (think "styling by chainsaw"). So, after she wore it that way to school for a few days, I took her to a salon and had it cut all the way off to start over again. In the car, the magnitude of her defiance finally dawned on her.
Well, live and learn, girl! : b
