Klosterhof mit Laubengang/Kreuzgang des ehemaligen Dominikanerinnenklosters St. Margaret. Jedes Jahr im Juni wurde dort der Wollmarkt abgehalten, daher auch der heutige Name des Platzes.
Das Kloster der Dominikanerinnen in Augsburg wurde mit Hilfe einer Stiftung im 13. Jahrhundert gegründet. Im Jahre 1538 wurde das Dominikanerinnenkloster wegen zu geringer Einkünfte vom Stadtrat aufgelöst. Es ging vorübergehend in den Besitz des Heilig-Geist-Spitals über. Quelle: Augsburg-Wiki

Heute befindet sich dort das Paritätische Hospitalstift St. Margaret, ein modernes Seniorenzentrum und Altenheim. Weiterhin sind in den Räumen des ehemaligen Klosters eine Kindertagesstätte und eine Werkstatt der benachbarten Augsburger Puppenkiste untergebracht. (PiP)

Monastery courtyard with arcade/cloister of the former Dominican convent of St. Margaret. Every year in June there was held the wool market, hence the current name of the place.
The Dominican convent in Augsburg was established in the 13th century by means of a foundation. The convent was disbanded by the city council due to low income. It went temporarily into the possession of the Holy Spirit Hospital. Source: Augsburg-Wiki

Today there housed the Parity Hospital of St. Margaret - a modern senior center and retirement home. Furthermore are housed in the premises of the former convent a day nursery center and a workshop of neighboring Augsburg Puppet Theatre . (PiP)
