Quelle: Wikipedia

➽ The approximately 845 km² island of Lanzarote is three-quarters covered with lava, spewed from at least 300 craters of about 100 volcanoes. The igneous material of the six years of eruptions from 1 September 1730 to 16 April 1736 covering about 167 km² of Lanzarote. The Timanfaya National Park in the southwest of the island covers 51.07 km², at that time incurred here 32 volcanic cones. The large area, which is today coverd with a sea of lava, belonged before the outbreaks to the most fertile part of Lanzarote. After the disaster was the incredible amount of eight million cubic meters of lava where previously small villages and a few farms had existed. The previously last volcanic eruptions on the island took place in 1824. Source: Wikipedia

➽ Most photos are taken from the bus - in the national park there are only 2 or 3 places where it's allowed to leave the bus!
