Schmidsches Gartengut - Schmid's garden plot
Quelle: Augsburger Allgemeine

➽ Originally the site was a pleasance of art publisher Santo Tessari (1759-1842). Later known as "Schmid's garden plot", it was purchased about 90 years ago by the Augsburg builder Erwin Gesswein and first used as a summer home later as a principal residence. In 1945 the property was seized by the Americans. The owner's daughter, Gerda Sylge, fought a long time to get back the Biedermeier villa - in the spring of 1957 it was given her back. It was the last confiscated house in Augsburg. Gerda lived there until her death in 2006 - now it belongs to the Priller family (Riegele brewery) which operates a beer garden there!
