Goodby Singapore
As our ship pirouettes within the main Singapore harbour we wave goodbye to this magnificent city after only a few fleeting hours. This was taken only a short time after a major rain storm. For you technically minded this was taken hand-held on a rocking ship hence the slightly grainy ISO 2000!

A new Victorian view
A rare visit to the city gives us a view from Victoria Railway station in Manchester showing us part of the new tramway concourse. Just two things of note to be seen here – one is a lone Manchester Bee, one of a few that are still dotted around the city centre and the other is the tram itself. For those that are interested it’s the Metrolink No. 3121 on its way to Manchester Airport via Market Street.
Some interesting line connectivity here! Remember we drive on the left here so this tram is heading away from the station having taken the shortest route but the return tram would do a big swing out on a longer detour. I wonder why they designed it like that ?
Nice full screen, enjoy the day.
See next photo for more bees!

A September voyage!
I have not seen such a ‘Hotel’ boat on our canals before and so this was quite a surprise. Seen on my local stretch of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Uppermill, on its way towards the long ‘Standedge’ canal tunnel in the village of Diggle (just the next village up). These locks are quit narrow and it was in the next lock up that we once saw a canal boat ‘high & dry’ and being rescued by a big crane in 2014. See last photo or PiP
Enjoy full screen.
Friezland rest
Join me on our regular Greenfield round, halting here for a moment to take in this splendid view over the area known as Friezland up to Lydgate. The stretch we are currently walking is along the very old railway line, now a linear park towards the large villages of Greenfield and Uppermill. We will return after around another 7km, a little way beyond those cottages along the canal.
Enjoy full screen.
Have a great day
