HWW ~ Kyle of Lochalsh Railway station
Taken on a quite Sunday. This station acts as the main station on the Scottish Mainland for passenger traffic to the Isle of Skye. That, until a few years ago used to be from near the harbour (on the left here) via ferry to Kyleakin but nowadays all traffic goes via the big new Skye Bridge. It is also the terminus for many train specials that come from Aviemore and 'The boat of Garten' heritage station. Some of these would be pulled by steam locos.
The train is one of our Class 158 Express Sprinters–a diesel DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit). Not that most of the single track line it will travel along allows any fast speeds at all. The train shown here runs to Inverness via what is known as the 'Kyle Line' and takes approx. 2 ½ hours.
Enjoy the day.
HWW ~ Broadford harbour wall
Broadford on the Isle of Skye has in fact two harbour walls to shelter its fishing boats. This is the furthest from the actual village. In the past Broadford pier was used to ship our Skye marble.
Enjoy the day.

A view up to this rock wall from Greenfield Brook not too far from my home. The lone high rock on the right is actually The Trinnacle, a local high spot for climbers who want their pictures taken on top of them. This photo is quite unique for me as I nearly never see these rocks with the sun shining on them as I did on this morning stroll. It was clearly due to the fact that it was coming up to the longest day.
See PiP for an earlier view from the top of The Trinnicle.

Part of the walled landscapes around Llyn Barfog (The Bearded Lake) in Wales.
Essential full screen.
Have a good day.
HWW ~ A vision of VR & AI
Somebodies view on VR and AI too perhaps. In reality I can live with both VR and AI as places to explore. Hope you enjoy this mix between a friendly snowman and a scary ghoul.
Taken on the banks of The Rochdale Canal not too far from my home.
Enjoy the day.
NC500 GT. - 31 – To Handa Island
A breakwater or small pier here for todays HWW offering from way back in 2021.
A slight detour from our road as we begin a visit to the wildlife reserve of Handa Island. Here we are still on the mainland at the hamlet of Tarbet and this is the staging area for our short crossing to the Island with our cruise liner shown here :)
The NC 500: The Scottish 'North Coast 500' is one of the world’s most beautiful road trips. A route of just over 500 miles (516) of stunning coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, rugged mountains, remote fishing villages and hidden gems.
Have a good day
HWW ~ Love Lane
This is the short walled lane from the village centre to the most beautiful Shawl walk here in Leyburn. I liked the muted colours in harmony here.
Enjoy the day.
HWW ~ Another Dales wall
The countryside of Britain has been completely domesticated my man over the millenniums. Here we see agricultural land with a dry-stone boundary wall. Seen near Leyburn.
HWW, enjoy the day
HWW ~ The Bug
Another reminder of our US trip that included Portland, Maine. Here we see one of its lighthouses, affectionally known as Bug Light. Built in 1855.This elegant-looking lighthouse is unique because it's believed to be the only lighthouse in the world shaped like a 4th-century Greek monument. Four Corinthian columns hold up the lens.
Enjoy the day.
HWW ~ Dales Way Barn
A barn that I suspect is photographed a lot. We are here on the Dales Way near Hubberholme again and this is but one of many barns around here.

HWW ~ A Dales wall and window

A walk in the Wharfe valley near the village of Hubberhome is certain to be heaven for any wall or barn collector. Enjoy this scene with me.
HWW, enjoy the day.
HWW ~ Dovestones Silver Birch with a green mantle.
This tree, I have known since it was very young indeed. I have followed it with photographs through the years and seasons and it has never failed to impress me. I realised as I was looking at the results on my computer that I did not have one of it on Ipernity when covered in leaf.
Enjoy the day.
The River Kent at Kendal
A new river wall in the making here as the flood prevention scheme goes on for yet another year.
The people of Kendal are quite fed-up with all this now. It has been going on for years and effects the river bank and promenades for a good way from the town centre. However my nephew had water to the edge of his front door in the great Kendal flood of 2022 and so they might feel safer when this is done. The river around here has caused bad flooding for many years now. High river walls and armoured glass fences atop must cost a fortune.
HWW, enjoy the day.
HWW ~ The Dales today
We are near the village of Reeth here at the end of a splendid round walk. These barns are almost a trade-mark of the area and this one shows the state of many which are at the end of their life.

Autumn is always a good time to be out and about with your camera, especially if like me you like to photograph trees and water in these colours.

HWW ~ Guitar playing busker

This chap was seen in the old town of Budapest playing an odd ditty. Sat at the edge of an advertising column and yes walls to the back of him too. We were doing a walking tour around here and getting quite lost so no real idea of where to map this.
