Hornby Castle from the River Wenning
Traveling east a short distance from our base near Carnforth we are at a village called Hornby. Walking just near the A683 road bridge over the River Wenning we see this attractive castle. Unfortunately time does not let us have a closer look at the grounds and gardens. Perhaps next time though.
See PiP for closer look.
"The castle sits on a hill with dramatic views overlooking the Lune valley and Ingleborough. It is set in beautiful grounds and has a garden which is open to the public. The central Keep tower dates back to 1520 but the house was rebuilt c1820 in early Victorian style with splendid ornate ceilings and carved wood panelling." www.hornbycastle.com
Enjoy full size.

Cheers, Rosa.
I like this picture very much!
You found a nice gap in the trees for the castle (which I have never heard of), and the bits of drift wood really add interest.
Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!
