This is a trial trying to achieve collimation of the mirrors, you are looking at two shots to make this photo split down the middle. Part of the learning process of this new scope I think I should have shot say 2 to 3 min so as not to blow out the white bright core. I i get a chance I may try again with the lower time but it all dependent on the weather.

Stars on the left are not quite as good as the stars on the right. I have been trying to understand the mirrors and alignment but never get enough fine days to fully test out just two night and back into rain. I have to get collimation or mirror alignment before I switch to a Black and White camera and a filter wheel. The camera I am going to use is the very same QHY183M so setting up the whole system is easy its all ready done.

QHY 183C -10c 85 shots 5 min each over two nights.

Thank you if you knew just how close I have come to throwing in the towel not as easy as the ED80. I will still plug away at this but not really enjoying it like I use to.

I just can get this but is not high enough above the horizon to get good pictures. Yours is great again

Steve I am always amazed what you can capture. This is another beauty and to me, quite perfect as it is. You playing with all that equipment to get the right shot(s) is a bit like someone fine tuning a coming brain operation! Very well done.

Cheers. Herb

I think I have the problem solved so it a case of trying out which will happen next fine night. I do want this to work as it gives me better shot time rather than two night I can get shots in one night.
It is very much like try to get the brain to work.. Glad you like it.
