They are truly huge and its not till you see people next to them you get a good idea just how big. they also do make a low noise as they turn as well.

An excellent capture of this impressive wind farm Steve, and an enticing glimpse of the coastline. They really dwarf the people in the shot and it is good to have them in the shot for scale purposes. Give me a wind farm over a nuclear power station anyday!

HFF and have a good weekend

I'm always impressed by these wind turbines. I recognize them due to their specific ovoid form, these are ENERCON's, right? HFF Steve.
Steve Paxton club has replied to Christa1004 club
Image result for what type of turbines are the wind farm in albany
The original Albany Wind Farm turbines are ENERCON model E66, each with three 35 metres (115 ft) long blades made from fibreglass and kevlar (making them very flexible in order to withstand any conditions) and are fitted to 65 metres (213 ft) towers.
Location: near Albany, Western Australia
Make and model: Enercon: 12 X E66; 6 X E70

100% correct they certainly are a better power source down here on this windy coast. HFF from the bottom of WA.

Thanks for the information, Steve. I recognize well their shape (my son builds those wind turbines for Enercon in Europe!).

HFF, Steve, enjoy your weekend.
Many years ago we saw huge wind farms in USA, in the desert between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. At that time there were very few wind turbines here in Germany. That has changed too.

Steve Paxton club has replied to Erika+Manfred club
the right place for them well away from homes and in the winds. HFF hope your weekend goes well.

Its a good thing as the pose no threat but noise of the turning blades the further from homes the better. I would take this well over Chernobyl any day I think what the world needs more investment in. HFF hope you week end is better than ours.
