Dolphin Feeding Monkey Mia

Interesting to note these are the same dolphins as the 2006 shot in the PIP as they have been coming for the last 20 years. One of our group hand feed one.

The origin of Monkey Mia's name is not really known. Some derive it from the schooner Monkey which supposedly anchored in Shark Bay in 1834 and the Aboriginal word mia for “house” or “home”, hence “Home of the Monkey”. ... Of the people on the shore only 5 got to feed them so it is a real privilege.

Lovely shot!
Having been there five years ago, I've had the impression that the dolphins mainly came there to watch the tourists and not the other way round :-)
