Bad story, good photo - water and new green vs ruin and tree skeletons.

Have just been reading Janet's account of the rejuvenationof life after the fire on her land in Oregon. This too will recover and is doing so, by the look of things.
Margaret River: some great wines to be had from that area. I recall from the news that a lot of vineyards suffered that year but vines are relatively quick to get re-establish, I think!
I hope the new owners of the lodge make a good fist of the rebuilding and do well.

For such an old home to go up was almost criminal but as you can see nature slowly wins out. In time the old home will be back to its former self. yes a great wine area of the state always come back with a bottle or three.....

It was not very good to see this heritage home and all that was inside go up in smoke. most of it will never be replaced as they where so old. the trees hide such a lot but may like the trees the home will get fixed.

My opinion.
The links tell it all and the photo does the rest. It is privately owned so the owners would like to have it restored for sure, but it would not be the same.
If the history is there, then the council/government should pay them out and leave it as is , because that is it's history.
Good work Steve

Peter this is all we can do but sit and watch I am 50/50 I kind of think best leave it alone open to the public as its now closed and sealed off. Only time will tell here.

Steve,Considering this further, if it was rebuilt then this would become part of it's history,so
yes time will tell, and who are we to tell them what to do. I am sure they would not listen.
Hope they have more money than I have .
Have a goodnight. Peter

... one of the tangents about Ipernity is the ability to learn about (and see photos about) far away things or unusual situations -- this is one of them: thanks for this shot and the accompanying links ... and also the other shots of the area as it recovers from devastation (probably nature sooner than peoples' memories) ...

... it's all a learning concept I call Encyclopedia Ipernia ...

That is so true people who lost in the fire never get anything back but nature always relives. Ipernity is so full of those encyclopedias.
