Annual summer meeting with Ilda, descended from the Antrona Valley where she was on holiday. This time with her and her husband Cosma was her 8-year-old granddaughter Maria. We visited Orta and the Island of San Giulio, which I had never seen before. A wonder.

One of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Orta San Giulio is located on Lake Orta in the province of Novara. The historical centre, completely pedestrian, surprises for the narrow and picturesque streets that often lead to panoramic points. Right in the lake, in front of Orta San Giulio, stands the Island of San Giulio: it is so perfect that it looks like a painting by the skilful hands of a painter! The village of Orta San Giulio, very refined, is made up of beautiful nineteenth-century buildings, incredible villas and picturesque streets.

And it is. I knew it was so nice, but never visited before. Really nice. Not really a town, more a village.

Almeno una volta all'anno faccio anch'io qualcosa.
