Blower's Repository

Blower's Repository
Blower's repository was a store and offices, and is now in use as library offices. Dated 1902. The building is mock Tudor.

The red and white barrier has been on the road since the first coronavirus lock-down, It closes the bus lane and gives a lot more space for pedestrians so that social distancing is easy.

A very welcoming looking corner of Shrewsbury! Honestly, in many cases I cannot tell real Tudor apart from mock Tudor;-)

The original Tudor is much more higgledy-piggledy particularly the woodwork. I think they've done the windows well mind you.

It's in such a state of disrepair, it could be genuine Tudor, Amelia. LOL. All the best, Joe

For me a typical English street: the architecture and the whole environment ! Very nice, Amelia !

A very nice looking building................I like the details you've captured, especially in the wall. I especially like the stripey chimney!

If you hadn't told me, I'd have believed real Tudor! A very English street scene.

Hi LGM yes a frustrating few days and then I was away for the weekend and yesterday. Finn was three on Sunday. We had rain interspaced with patches of sunshine ~ typical many weather really I guess.
Thanks for your good wishes and let us hope that you get some sun too x (This message was in reply to my HFF which ipernity now says that your comment has been deleted) Hm

Problems are still arising. I am trying to delete copies of photos and seem to be creating more copies of them. I am also trying to change titles, and that isn't working either. Descriptions of photos cannot be saved. I think I'll shut down in disgust.

What more charming setting could we imagine for a library? The interior woodwork which is easy to guess is so conducive to the intimacy and the muffled acoustics required for reading.
A very nice evocation.

A delightful street scene. I like the stone building next to the mock tudor as well. Love seeing the advertisement also! It's funny to me to see such an old advertisiement for antiques - I wonder what they coveted as an antique back then.
