A bigger aperture required, Paul, but it certainly shows the state of the morning's weather. ;-)

Many thanks, Erika, It has rained for much of the day, but the garden needed that.

That's too high praise for this dark little photo, Jaap, but thank you all the same.

I thiunk all photos look better when viewed larger, Keith, although the larger size isn't as good as it was on Panoramio I don't think.

A terrific allium shot!

It does look similar to an allium bud, Andy, but they are finished now and it's the day of the agapanthus. :-)

Ah, yes! I should have known. Agapanthus are rampant in Cornwall in August. Am looking forward to seeing them and much else when we visit my parents in the first fortnight of August!

You might be disappointed in August, Andy, although that is the usual month for them. Many are already fully open in Shropshire, but if the cooler weather continues they'll be OK. :-)

Well, I'll just be pleased to spend a week or two in Cornwall, effectively my first real visit for 2 years although we did pop over for a weekend in November for my Mum'snn80th.

A wonderful capture, just a little light rain late afternoon

The rain was very heavy yesterday morning, Peter, and the garden has since grown quite a lot since. I was struggling with sweet peas and new growth on summer pruned roses, but all looks much better now. It is still dull and moist here, and much cooler, but i don't mind.

I think I should have taken a selfie for your amusement, Heidi. I was a small wet pensioner and had to take a lot of care afterwards with my camera. ;-)

I don't mind it's slightly dark, the raindrops shine! The rain must have been a relief for you and your garden!
Amelia club has replied to Gudrun club
It was indeed, Gudrun. These agapanthus went mad when we were living in Norway for 5 years. They broke their pots and seeded all over the garden. It's almost like living in Madeira now, and I am constantly weeding out seedlings and giving larger plants away to other gardeners.

The mood is a bit gloomy, but that illuminates the raindrops. This makes the macro nicely balanced.
I understand now: The rain enriched your garden and so it enriches you too.

I like the low key effect, there's enough light on the water droplets.

Brilliant job with this Amelia ... your lighting plays well with the droplets and this image really looks nice large and on black. :)
