After a long hard battle trying to beat back trouble caused by years of fixing farm machinery in fields and barns in all weathers and sports injuries I am waving he white flag.
This means changes in my lifestyle I knew would happen sometime.
My GP has told me what not to do ,what to do less and what to carry on with.
The list isn't good but I have no choice if I want to stay mobile.
No more lugging heavy shopping, no more ladders not even stepladders, the latter because the back spasms are increasingly hitting hard
My back massage seat has to be on my chair all the time and I have to use it every morning for 30mins
I haven't to leave the house without wearing back brace and ankle supports.
On the plus side I can still do my walking,in moderation so I can still wander into town and mooch around for a few light odds and ends and stroll the beaches and lanes if the good weather comes this year
Not a lot of plus marks I know but to stay mobile I will do what it takes,
So the first item on my newly written bucket list namely getting to the top of Black Combe for one last time is out but all things said for the years of strain I put this old body through I am doing Ok
