The day dawned wet but dry weather arrived so I wandered off to town. Pipe fodder was my first buy, next a trip to B&M for some fat balls, nuts and seed for the birds.
Then I strolled the one mile to Iceland for my food shopping today's treat was a special offer on Battenberg cakes and Cherry Bakewells from that nice Mr Kipling,2 for £2 instead of £3.
I booked the delivery in for this afternoon and left intending to stroll home via the channel side. Alas the rain returned with a vengeance leaving me in the open a mile from home and getting very wet. I cut through the little haven and into the bus shelter on the bridge approach just in time to flash the pass and catch a bus home. I needed to get dried and changed before settling down to wait for the food delivery and now I am as snug as a bug in a rug listening to the rain lash the windows waiting for the delightful Joy to bring my shopping. The rest of the day is going to be quiet with no chance of breaking out again and with weather fronts moving in across the Atlantic it may just be time to batten down the hatches for a couple of days, only time will tell.
Last night my food processor finally gave up the ghost after struggling on gamely for a few months. I have a new one on the way.A Bankrupt stock buy from E Bay and that will get here tomorrow. It has all the whistles and bells most of which will never leave the drawer but the machine itself is a good one .Well time to start dinner I am making a meat and potato pie which I will have with peas, whole green beans and smother the lot in a thick onion gravy and with the pastry left over maybe a couple of fruit tarts for afters. Have fun and keep your powder dry.
