I visited my sister in hospital today and she did not look good. Apparently she was up and walking around yesterday (Wednesday) but it looks like she may have overdone it; she had a bad night. This morning I phoned and asked if she’d like me to visit, she said yes, however when I arrived she was doped up on pain meds and was barely conscious. She looked really bad, and it made me quite sad to see her that way. I stayed less than half an hour, then left.
I had my own appointment on Wednesday and that was a long day; 2 hours spent driving my son to work experience (half hour each way and I have to drive home each time), 2 hours in total on the bus, and 2 hours at the hospital. I’d vaguely hoped that they would remove the ‘wound’ there and then but no such luck. From the biopsy I had done, they’ve ascertained that I have a ‘rogue ulcer’ which sounds helluva lot better than the medical term of ‘basal cell carcinoma’. Apparently it’s a fairly common form of skin cancer and rarely kills, though it does have to be removed before it gets any worse/bigger. I should have surgery in the next couple of months, and depending on how much of my forehead skin they remove, I might have to have a skin graft. Oh what joy! Still, it’ll be nice to get rid of it.
I know I complain, but this weather really is nothing to enjoy in my opinion. We haven’t had a hot meal in days as I just can’t face cooking it or eating it for that matter and I’ve never drunk so much water! My family have the ‘camel gene’ and none of us drink enough but I can’t stop at the moment; I have a constant thirst and cold water is all that’s keeping me from combusting spontaneously! Locally, it was 30C in the shade today and it’s unbearable. Roll on autumn lol, or at least some rain...

I love this weather it can't get hot enough for me,we had about the same temps as you and at almost 10pm in this room it is still 25c with all the doors and windows open, roll on tomorrow I say Autumn can wait it's turn
The mornings at the moment are glorious - it's sunny, there's a nice breeze and not too hot, but by lunchtime... It's not for me lol, and I'm just glad this type of summer isn't usual for us.
Over here we're blessed with less heat, probably because I live so close to the sea. The last time we had scorching weather was in 1986 and 87, the ground was simply too hot to walk on and grass was just something we remembered having had the year before.
Hot climates don't normally bother me if i remain in a hot place long enough, but this up and down type of weather is very unpleasant.
The grass here is decidedly brown and not looking good at all. Hopefully it'll recover after some rain.
