Mort Shuman delivers a superior version of his composition "Turn Me Loose" (D. Pomus - M. Shuman). Mort wrote the music at the request of Chancellor records. Mr. Shuman appears in the movie `The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane" with Jodie Foster. Both Mort and Doc Pomus died in 1991.
Fabian (Forte) peaked at number nine with "Turn Me Loose" in 1959. The legend is that Fabian was discovered by an owner of Chancellor Records as Fabian's father was being taken to a Philadelphia hospital. They thought he looked like a rock star. Over the years I have watched Fabian in concert and must say that he is a good entertainer.
