Norway's A-ha (Morten Harket, Magne Furuolmen and Pal Waaktaar) first recorded "Lesson One" which gradually morphed into "Take On Me" (Morten Harket - Mags Furuolmen - Pal Waaktaar) as produced by Englishman Tony Mansfield in 1984. There was chart action in their home country but not elsewhere. Later they recorded the hit produced by ex-member of the Shadows Alan Tarney for the debut album "Hunting High and Low" in 1985. This topped Billboard's pop chart and became a world-wide hit. The video for the song was simply spectacular animation for the era. The video won a number of awards.
