"Rock On" (David Essex) was recorded in 1973 as a single sung by England's David Essex (Cook). The single reached Billboard's top five and made him a one-hit wonder in the U.S. although he had genuine hits elsewhere. "Rock On" was the title of his debut album issued later that same year.

A star of the soap opera "The Young and the Restless" , Michael Damian (Weir) covered Eric Carmen's "She Did It" in 1981. His next success was the 1989 chart topping "Rock On". This was featured on the soundtrack for the motion picture "Dream a Little Dream" starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. The song is also on Michael's 1989 album "Where Do We Go From Here". Michael had the starring role on Broadway's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Raincoat".
