We remain with many beautiful memories to the Bhutanese family who gave us a warm hospitality in their house.

The beauty of Paro valley is embellished by cluster of quaint Farm Houses. Bhutanese Farm Houses are very colorful, decorative and traditionally built without the use of single nail. All houses follow the same architectural pattern. A visit to Farm House is very interesting and offers a good glimpse into the lifestyle of a farmer.

Very idyllic and snug equipped bed room inside our hosts farm house. The wall and the ceiling joist are painted with pattern and ornaments in the smallest detail in Bhutanese style.

Shopping in Bhutan often is done on the roadside, people haven't to step into the shop.

The Dzong is just some footsteps away from the highway and pass this chorten on the left side. The Bhutanese word Chorten means “the basis of offering”. It is a symbol of enlightened mind, (the awakened mind, universal divinity) and the path to its realisation.

Towards the south of Punakha valley lies the valley of Wangdue Phodrang and the confluence of Puna Tsang Chhu and Tang Chhu rivers stands the impressive Wangdue Phodrang Dzong.

Wangdue Phodrang Dzong was founded by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1638. It is located on top of a high ridge between the Puna Tsang Chhu and the Tang Chhu, offering a spectacular view.

Bumthang consists of the four mountain valleys of Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor (also known as Bumthang valley), although occasionally the entire district is referred to as Bumthang valley.
