This is were the Admirable Crichton lived, when he attended the University of St Andrews.
---
James Crichton, known as the Admirable Crichton (19 August 1560 – 3 July 1582), was a Scottish polymath noted for his extraordinary accomplishments in languages, the arts, and sciences before he was murdered at the age of 21.
One of the most gifted individuals of the 16th century, Crichton was educated at St Andrews University between the ages of ten and fourteen, during which time he completed requirements for both his bachelor's and master's degrees. Quoted from Wikipedia

University of St Andrews
The United College of St Salvator and St Leonard, colloquially known as Sallies Quad, is one of the oldest remaining parts of the University of St Andrews and sits at the geographical and spiritual heart of the town. The iconic steeple of St Salvator’s Chapel dominates the skyline on the western approach to St Andrews — a familiar sight for countless generations of students.
