Now can you just imagine eating Christmas dinner there...!
I did meet a young lady many years ago who was housekeeper to a very rich man who lived in a place like this. The gentleman gave her Christmas day off!!

I particularly like the central photo in which you give the right emphasis to the shadows; the lights are low but warm to create a nice atmosphere. Very special details also in the Pips.

A festive atmosphere as I love them, sober and radiant at the same time, in the deep warmth of the woodwork and its shadows from which emerge these oases of clarity. "Truly Victorian decorative delights" really, I agree, and you've captured them delightfully, Rosalyn (I love your capture and the design of the vintage Christmas card, both of which are absolutely poetic and exquisite).

Yes, all very tasteful Eric. I love the old Victorian Christmas cards. I have a collection of them inherited from my mother. I love looking at them.

In my opinion a Christmas tree must be necessarily a Victorian one, dear Rosa, and this one seems to come from one of Charles Dickens' stories! The mai picture must be enlarged to appreciate the great perspective and enjoy the festive atmosphere fully! The hand made decorations and the Christmas cards are so charming !

I agree dear Adele. All very Dickensian. It was in this museum that I went to an event with a talk by Dicken's great great granddaughter....there might be another great needed there :-)
