Broad-bodied Chaser

Warnham Nature Reserve

On the outskirts of town, and easily walkable (what else to do when there's nothing but a televised wedding to watch at home)? I'd never been before, so I was long overdue a visit. And it was well worthwhile! Ponds and meadows, hides, woodland and boardwalks, so plenty to occupy the camera for a few hours. Friends of Warnham Nature Reserve website.

Not a dragonfly (as I originally thought) but a damselfly. The British Dragonflies website can help

Large Red Damselfly

Plenty of damselflies buzzing around the ponds. This is more likely to be a Large Red Damselfly than a Small Red Damselfly, if my reading of the British Dragonflies information is correct.

Brown Butterfly

According to the British Butterflies website , I think I've spotted a Meadow Brown . As they're fairly common, that's probably right.

The wildflower meadow

There is a small wildflower meadow in the centre of the reserve. This was clearly a good time to visit.
