Animals, Reptiles & Amphibians !

Some fun Froggie pics ... he was hunting bugs drawn to the lit window. Top Left: Taken from inside the kitchen... he is on the outside of the bug screen (there are reflections in the glass...) Top Right: I went outside.. in the rain(we got a few drops) .... This silhouette made me laugh ! Bottom Left: The kitchen window is high (normal height INside !) I had the camera above my head ,arms outstretched! Bottom Right: Then he was off to find a bit of peace and bug hunt elsewhere ! EXPLORED !

This fellow was waiting for me in the garage this morning. So... I scooped him up in a flowerpot and put him on the grass.... and he thanked me for that small kindness by letting me take some photos ! Several folk mentioned in their comments about Ratty and Mole and Badger... so I am going to put my comment in here My most precious thing is my Mum's 1913 "Wind In The Willow's " complete with the watercolour litho pictures. Its been read 1000 times.. and sits by my table here. EXPLORED !

This beautiful Boy lives in the very narrow bed where the Moonflowers and Morning Glory's grow. Like all the frogs and toads here he takes on a perfect colouration for his little part of the world . As the Lantana frog had Lantana leaf patterns on his back..... www.ipernity.com/doc/pamj/26974637/in/album/387497 ......so the Moonflower Frog has the sand and red earth of where he lives. EXPLORED !

I filled the watering can to do the birdbaths.. at the second bath.. out poured Moonflower frog !!! So .... he got his pic taken... got a swim in the bird bath and a sit on the side.. whilst I did the 3rd bath .. then I popped him back in the watering can and took him back to his territory. EXPLORED !

Poor quality I know ! On a rare rainy night in Oklahoma... through a water streaked window.... hand held and by the light of a distant security light !! It looks alot brighter light source than it was with the editing I did ! She brings them at night ... the big feeder on the tree is one I built.. and built and hung to withstand at least 25 lbs in weight hanging off it... well being the thwarted engineer I am.. I added a little leeway.... which is fortunate ! EXPLORED !

Hand held , low light, through glass... but I couldnt resist ! Last years babies never bothered with the feeders.. these three this year think they are fun toys !

There are times I dont know whether to laugh or cry about these critters !!. This one is HUGE !!! The Gopher... wellllllll he and his buddies.. we have an ongoing .... "difference of opinion" but he made me laugh with this yesterday !

Last night Mama R had just gone off and left Baby ! So Baby R curled up in the tree ! She was about 20 feet up the tree

He was in top rate condition too. Nice weight.. clean skin and undamaged shell and full grown at about 6 inches long. This is the sort of land they inhabit..woodland and undistrurbed but I have only seen a couple before.. both females.

He is still very nervy.... and that is good. But we seem to have a semblance of trust EXPLORED !

Hand held and one shot. The light is from the Porch light. The hummingbirds are all but gone... the Butterflies are sparse.... It still hot in the daytime and barely cooling at night... but Autumn is coming

Meet "Nicky" and her babies. This female has been coming early in daylight to feed for the past 4 weeks. I have been filming her from my bedroom window as she comes to the feeding station I have for the wildlife . I was sure she was coming in the day time because she was a Mum nursing kits and this meant daylight was safer for her to leave the den. Late this afternoon she came for the first time with her babies.. 4 of them !!!! She is a "tough love" Mum... be she has to be if she wants to raise 4 lively kits to be young adults. She isnt selfish with the food .... she has instinct.... Babies arent eating that right now think they are still on milk .They scrabble in the grass for things.. but I think its only just learning stuff. I am glad they dont eat the put out food yet.. they need to learn "real food". Today they learned to climb and play Hide & Seek and how to knock the water over... soon they will be climbing the trees ! Doubtless there will be many more visits... and I have twins and triplets from last year that come some evenings. The Video isnt great quality but its the best I can do shooting through glass. This is a sassy juvenile I have been glimpsing for a week. Usually they are lightening fast and getting a picture isn't going to happen. This one... well we surprised each other and this was the result. Not a great pic.. just a rare one ! EXPLORED !

I put cheap feeding pellets out for the wildlife. This youngster could not wait the other day for it to be put into the feeder !

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULL IF THE DILLY WOULD TODDLE OFF NEXT DOOR !!! I AM NOT EXAGERATING ABOUT THE CRATERS EVERYWHERE. IT MAKES WALKING TRETUROUS !! AT LEAST THIS IS ONLY A SMALL ONE.THINK. PLUMP CAT SIZED. I HAVE ONKY SEEN ONE OTHER CLOSE BEFORE.THAT ONE. WAS ON THE GENCE BOUNDARY OF NEXT DOORS WOODS IT WAS HUGE ! AND JAY WARNED ME THEY CAN EXCAVATE LIKE A S J.C.B !!!!!!!
