Silver Spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus)

Silver Spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus)
FINALLY !!

The first that has allowed a photo this year ! Until 2 days ago there was nothing for the butterflies and bees to feed on and they were rapidly passing through.

Now the honeysuckles have started to bloom. We are at least a month behind here.

This morning I saw my first Monarch of the year but she declined to have her photo taken.. but this little Skipper sat for a few seconds !

micritter, , , and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

Everything is 4-6 weeks behind.. but the little false Sunflowers that grow even in the drought here.. the first one flowered today.. but they well behind and have some growing to do. The butterflies are beginning to be around.. but there is little for them to feed on.
