Great shot, Pam, but close-up they are not as cute an cuddly as they look in the photo. I don't think I've ever seen one in daylight.

She comes at night and is no trouble. if she is out there the Boys run up to her and she 'plays possum" and they leave her alone.. i wont let them bother her. She will stay still whilst I fill the food dish.

This was the only time I have seen her in daylight.. and she needed food.

I like to draw the stories too if they are there. Here I have wild turkeys too ! The raccoons and the skunks seem to be more unlucky here !!!

I suspect she was bitten by a snake. At the time that light didnt come on in my head.... it did later. We are thankfully rabies free in a large area of this part of OK. Its always a possibility.. and I always bear it in mind... but for now ... we are ok.

She is (or was) quite a cutie.

I can't explain it.. there was a definite "connection" . It deeply upset me when she died.. and the fact that she made it to this garden that fateful night and died here.......... That still makes me shiver .

We see a lot of them here in various places. They are poisoned. Horrible!!
