The river Cam at Cambridge

The river Cam at Cambridge
Taken from a punt on the Cam in Cambridge heading out toward Grantchester.
Lots of swimmers in the river, some of which go completely naked.
Tragically on the evening of the day I took this, a 12 year old boy drowned not far from this spot.

Christina Sonnenschein, Lebojo, , Bee Nee and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

o0o we have heard of many this year with the hot weather and
them passing away ... its so sad ... quarries seem to be so popular
too ... and yet they are so deep and so cold ... a tragedy o0o

Your picture is very unusual indeed and seems to show the River
is flowing quite quickly ... not sure if he was naked but seems
he had his goggles on :))) oOo

I remember the Cam in Cambridge...a long time ago
with the greens
but I never swam in it
your photo shows dark water...not so reassuring indeed .
So what happened to the young boy is not a great surprise...

Interesting perspective from behind, Michael. There are so many ways this picture can speak to the masses.
