Basterma

Basterma
or Pastırma, an Anatolian meat speciality (i.e. Turkish) made and sold in Syria by Armenians who migrated there in the beginning of the 2oth century. It has a very distinguished special smell and taste.

Thanks Ismet. Please leave it with Doctor etc. Pastirma is made in Syria by Armenians who left Turkey 100 years ago. So perhaps they came from Kayseri. I'll check it out anyway. In fact in the other day I have seen a Turkish shop here offering Kayseri Pastirma. So, I'll go and buy it ;-)
By the way do you see in the pictures how similar Syria and Turkey are? Only Turkey is richer, more organised and cleaner.
