The photo that made DSS mad- pixie.JPG (Kristin's name for this photo)
Once upon a time, I had a DSS investigation launched against me by an ex-spouse. Believe it or not, the local Department of Social Services had a problem with this photo, a photo Kristin had taken of herself, claiming it was "provocative." We laugh about it now, but it wasn't funny at the time. After much harassing, the bad-boy DSS guys and gals went away and starting intimidating some other poor soul. (I'm a pretty easy-going guy, but if I had it in me to harbor ill-will against anyone, it would be against these irrational, ignorant people, who have the intelligence of moles, and the power of kings.)

I fear you're right, Lotz. If they've got it out for you, they're going to try to find something. After thoroughly investigating me to the point of coming to my house and confiscating every computer I own and having some guy go through them looking for "evidence," rather than admitting they had gone on a wild goose chase and were wasting taxpayer dollars, and rather than be relieved that I'm not some pervert or weirdo raising a kid, they tried, instead, to talk me into going to "counseling" which would have meant being listed on the sexual predator's list. This, with the only "evidence" being home photos such as the one above and a few others Kristin had obviously taken. I hired an attorney who kept the nuts at bay. (They even tried to circumvent the law and approach me without going through my attorney.) My attorney told me of another guy he'd just helped whose daughter took photos in the dressing room of a lingerie shop similar to "Victoria's Secret" and posted them on her Myspace account. (back during the day when Myspace was the big thing, and not Facebook). They came after him like a rabid dog going after someone. Long story short, it all ended with no consequence other than my lost faith in believing these are "good guys" and have children's true best interests at heart.
