Taken near Mt Cook in New Zealand. I saw this notice at the cafe and had to wait patiently for some time until a Kea came and posed on it.

Taken near Tikal in Guatemala. I was having breakfast on the hotel balcony when I spotted this toucan also having his breakfast. By chance.I managed to catch the berry he was eating in mid air between the upper & lower halves of his beak.

We were out for a walk in the Welsh countryside when this robin flew down and landed on our son's hand.

Taken on Skomer Island. It is very rare to see one on land during the day as they spend all day at sea and only return to their nests (old rabbit burrows) at nightfall. This one remained very still while we looked at it and may have been ill.

Seen on safari in South Africa. This kingfisher lives off insects rather than fish !

We were eating our lunch in a cafe near Port Douglas (Queensland) when this Lorikeet landed on my wife's head.
