As could much of Toronto, Jaap. Failure to maintain street furniture and infrastructure generally is a serious problem in Toronto. As you can see, this bench also badly needs a coat of paint.

Toronto puts these benches close to the curb, Isabel, exposed to traffic, deliveries, and so on. Then they fail to maintain them. This one seems to have needed a coat of paint for some time.
