Urban boogie-woogie #3

Urban boogie-woogie #3
To inaugurate my new Urban Boogie-Woogie album I include "Hangover Boogie" by Meade Lux Lewis as an appropriate accompaniment for the Sight and Sound group:

More urban boogie-woogie (photos supposedly inspired by Mondrian's Broadway Boogie-woogie)::

Ruebenkraut, Sarah P., Old Owl, Marco F. Delminho and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

I think you have your own style, emphasizing the geometry and color of cityscapes rather than providing a physical subject to gape at. But then, isn't that what Mondriaan probably thought he was doing? And not all of his paintings had no subjects - he seemed fond of a ginger pot, if I recall.

Thank you very much, Bob. Certainly your ideas are in keeping with a lot of my ideas about photography. Fir example, if you want to learn about photography from Susan Sontag, I thinl you skip On Photography and read "Against Interpretation" instead.

I am not sure what I like more, John; Meade Lux Lewis or your urban image. All the best, Joe

Thank you very much, Joe. I'm blushing. Being mentioned in the same breath as Meade Lux Lewis is quite a compliment. I discovered "Hangover Boogie" while looking for something by Pete Johnson, and to me it seems as if he anticipated this picture.

Thanks, Ulrich. I think a lot of the boogie-woogie pictures of posted (today I expanded the album to 18 photos) are of things looking as if they're dancing.

Sounds like a new Olympic event, Léo. One I'd welcome, too.
