378-80 Bathurst Street, Toronto -- an Annex house outside the Annex in Toronto. There may actually be more Annex houses on Bathurst Street than in the Annex itself.

I believe this building is by Charles Lennox, whose brother E. J. Lennox, built the first Annex house (seen in the PiP at top left). Clicking the pic will take you to more information about Annex houses.

That's a parishioner of St. Volodomyr's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral rushing to a service.

I love the sense of symmetry here, John. You have achieved perfect colour contrast between the orange brickwork and the blue of the sky. I hope you have a great new week. All the best, Joe

An interesting building (or series, from your PiP) . I see that, over the years, one half has been treated to new tiles in a slightly different tone. Well captured, John.

Thanks, George, especially for noting the different colours of the roof. It seems the building on the right is commercial while the one on the left is a private home. Different priorities, I guess.

Beautiful architectural details John. I love the porches and the way the arched detail is carried through to the windows. I alos love the 'basketweave' effect on the facades. The building in the PiP is also very attractive. Thank you for the information

This is a stripped-down version of an Annex house, Carol, but even the stripping-down has been dpne elegantly. Normally, for example, the arches over the doors would be supported by a group of short pillars, but the pillars here have been suggested by some well-handled carving of the brick.
