Too cold for me, anyway Gerrit. It was colder today.

That's a serious snow! Intricate photo - lines and lines, all interrupted by white - white in which you kept detail, too.

A touch of brown, too, Sarah. I was doing my usual trick of adding red and green to brighten the photo (it removes the blue thatès ref;ected from the sky).

The first photo of mine that was Explored on Flickr was just such a photo, Jean. Bigger loaves, too, as I recall.

too much snow and too cold to cycle

People do cycle regularly here in the winter, Aschi, but I didn't see anyone out today. Still a lot of snow and slush on theroads.

Or until the snow is off the roads, Claudia.

This is our first snow that's stayed, George. It's still here three days later.

That makes me feel cold just looking at it...................no sign of snow in my bit of the UK yet. On one hand I'm pleased, but on the other I miss the photo opportunities.

Snow does offer great opportunities, Keith, especially in a city as rectangular as Toronto. You get the rounded snow contrasting with the right-angled buildings, for example. There also is the interesting challenge of getting the snow to look white on a sunny day. The camera picks up the blue of the sky reflected off the snow, and additional editing is required to get the blue tinge out.
