Sunday 5 May 2024 – Christchurch Park, Ipswich before taking part in the 2024 Ipswich-Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Run. Buckland Omnibus Company of Woodbridge, Suffolk TE 7870, a Dennis E chassis new to Accrington Corporation Transport as their number 57 in 1929. Originally it carried a Brush body but this was replaced with a Wyatt body in 1974.

K742 ODL, a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian new to Southern Vectis, Isle of Wight in June 1993 as a covered top vehicle (with semi-coach seating). Converted to open top in December 2003 for ‘Breezer’ services on the island.

Sunday 5 May 2024 – Christchurch Park, Ipswich before taking part in the 2024 Ipswich-Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Run. Ipswich Corporation Transport’s first motor bus was 1 (ADX 1), a Park Royal bodied AEC Regent III, one of six such buses 1-6 (ADX 1-6) new in May 1950. Prior that that date the undertaking had operated electric powered trams and trolleybuses. In fact the last trolleybuses were delivered in June and July 1950 registered ADX 185-196.

She is seen seated in the small buggy alongside preserved Ipswich 9 (MRT 9P) used as a grandstand. It is a Roe bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R was new in May 1976 as a normal covered top bus. The programme showed over 700 entries featuring Cars (514), Buses & Coaches (22), Commercials (32), Military (36), Motorcycles (81) and Leisure/special vehicles (52).

Monday 22 April 2024 (1115) – A visit to Cambridge today where I travelled on six different buses all listed below. This was Bus 4 seen at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Outpatients bus stop). The six buses travelled on were: Bus 1: Stagecoach East 86005 (BV23 NRK), an MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double decker new in April 2023. (Journey: 0953 service PR4 from Babraham Road Park & Ride site to Addenbrooke’s Hospital Bus Station) Bus 2: Whippet Coaches WG112 (UN14 BUS), a Mellor Sigma 12 electric single decker new in Sept 2023 (initially registered MX23 LCU). Monday 22 April 2024 (1121) – A visit to Cambridge today where I travelled on six different buses all listed below. In this photograph I was on board Stagecoach East 21303 (BF65 WKS) (my bus 4) five minutes and only 220 yards/200 metres after departing the Addenbrooke’s Hospital Outpatients bus stop. We were following Whippet Coaches WG116 (MX73 GBZ) (my bus 3) as they attempted to continue on their respective journeys. Queues created by cars waiting to enter the multi-storey car park quite some distance ahead brought traffic to a standstill. It took quite some time to get properly moving. The tracker on the Bus Times website showed that 21303 had departed more or less on time from St. Ives (Edison Road) working the 0945 Busway service A but was already 6 minutes late when it joined the Busway itself at St. Ives Park & Ride and 14 minutes late when leaving the Busway at Orchard Park, Kings Hedges. This had slid to 16 minutes late leaving the Addenbrooke’s Outpatients bus stop but such was the delay here that it would be 27 minutes late reaching the Trumpington Park & Ride site.
