A STATUE OUT OF THE SHADOWS. On the Villepail ledge, in a clearing, you suddenly come across this monument called "Notre-Dame-des-Bruyères". It's an imposing statue of the Virgin and Child (4 m high including the base, weighing 5 tons). It was created in 1978 by the artist-priest Bernard Chardon. Deemed unconventional and too modern for its time, it fell into oblivion, invaded by brambles, ferns and heather. Only in 2017 it emerged from anonymity, thanks to a master's student in art at the Louvre who took a close interest in the works of Father Chardon.

Edna Edenkoben club has replied to Christa1004 clubOh!
