Thank you very much Herb. I am not sure if they can although I must admit we sneaked in the gate and took some images! They run a lot of courses, - a lot of them in music and walking weekends etc, They say their library is open to the public but by arrangement only I gather. I would like to get a glimpse inside. Years ago when it was a privately owned house my husband did some work there and he says there was a beautiful minstrels gallery and they also had peacocks in the grounds. HFF and have a good weekend

That is some fence Carol, such a wonderfully warm colour of rock with great textures. The steps in the main shot leads the eye directly towards the impressive manor house beyond the gate. I like the way the fence stretches out towards infinity in the second shot, the red stone contrasting nicely with the lush green of the roadside.

Thank you very much Doug. I haven't seen a stone wall quite like this before. We sneaked inside the gate to get some shots of the grounds but would dearly love to have looked inside the house. It seems it had a fine minstrels gallery when it was a private house and I would like to think some of the original features have been retained. They run courses on playing anything from guitar to accordian but my musical capabilities are so limited I couldn't find middle c on a piano so I guess that is not for me and I won't get in that way!!

Many thanks Rosa. I had heard of it of course as it isn't too far away, but had never been there before. We sneaked into the grounds to take some shots but would have like to look inside the house. They run courses for music, dance, making musical instruments etc and hold walking weekends. There is quite an important library there that is open to the public.

Thank you very much Marta. The building has had a long association with the arts. A previous owner was an artist and fell for another artist, moving away to be with him. The house then became a centre for folk art. They hold courses for musicians of all levels and even instrument making workshops. Imagine learning to play the mandolin in such wonderful and fitting surroundings. Have a good week
