Kriegsopfer - War victims

One day after the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops (24.02.2022), I visited an exhibition at the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt, where I found this artwork by Böhler & Orendt "Blossoms of Splendor". It is a wooden cube filled with burial soil and containing 400 small crosses with painted acorn hats. The intention of this work of art actually has nothing to do with war (see explanation in PiP), but one is involuntarily reminded of a war grave field. Hardly anyone could have guessed after the war against Ukraine began how long this murderous war would last and how much suffering and how many victims would have to be mourned.
I was very touched by this work of art at the time.

Bon week-end.
bon we cammino
Erich
