Von vielen Gottheiten beschützt ... Protected by many divinities...

... is the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple in Berlin. It is located directly on the street Hasenheide in the north of Neukölln. The temple is dedicated to the elephant god Sri-Ganesha and has been under construction for several years, which is quite planned and intentional. The entrance to the extensive temple complex is through the completed King's Tower (in the picture), which is "guarded" by many gods on this side. On the right side area there are many statues of Sri-Ganesha (see PiP).
Hasenheide is a very popular recreational area for the residents of Neukölln and Kreuzberg, with a small zoo and extensive meadow and forest areas. The PiP also shows that in the warm season the Hasenheide (also the area in front of the Buddhist temple) is very popular for picnicing and playing.

Schön Festgehalten!!
This reminds me of a story I heard on a podcast about a neighborhood in Oakland, California. A man was just trying to make the area around his home less "seedy" and his placement of a buddha began a transformation he never realize could have ever happened...It's pretty cool: theworld.org/stories/2014-11-19/how-buddhist-shrine-transformed-neighborhood-oakland
If you have the time, listen to the podcast link at the top. This story I've listened to twice and it's taught me a lot.
