Die Storchengasse in der Altstadt von Zürich.
Früher hiess die Strasse wegen den hier ansässigen Handwerkern 'Schmiedgasse', zeitweise wurde sie auch 'Hauptgasse' genannt.
1771 erhielt die Strasse den Namen 'Storchengasse', der sich vom (nachweislich) seit 1471 hier existierenden 'Gasthof zum Storchen' ableitet. Der 'Gasthof' heisst heute 'Hotel Storchen Zürich', das Zimmer kostet pro Nacht schnell 'mal € 1000.-.

I haven't found anything about the history of the house yet ... only that the front was reconstructed according to old plans in 1979.

Hier versteht man die Bauvorschriften ... zum Glück wird hier viel zum Erhalt der Häuser und für eine lebendige Altstadt getan :-))
