CumbriaVAG 2011
A selection of shots from what was a truly fantastic one day show held in the grounds of Heaves Hotel, Kendal for all things VAG.
Since then it has moved venue and I've not been back. However, if this show was anything to go by it will still be worth a visit if you ever get the opportunity to attend.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Regards

Time at last me thinks to start another automotive album, this time capturing some of the shots I took at CumbriaVAG 2011 .
A cracking little show it was held at the Heaves Hotel on the outskirts of Kendal in Cumbria although I believe more recent shows have taken elsewhere.
This was one of my favourite shots of the day as it summed up all that was special about this laid back event: a great selection of vehicles, all nicely laid out, and sunshine aplenty.
Oh, and that kid taking the notes could well been me 30 or 35 years ago!

This beautiful looking classic convertible is actually a kit car, namely a Chesil Speedster.
Apparently, according to the company website, it is "a replica of a famous 2-seater sports car from the 1950s, and closely resembles the 1957 model year". Now then, I wonder which company they're going out of their way not to mention - lol.

Here's a close-up shot of 'Rusty' from earlier for those who like their Beetles with added patina.

Not quite what I was expecting to see at a VW show, but it was a welcome sight all the same.
1962 VW Beetle Deluxe - VSL 562

The standard of finish and attention to detail on this old ragtop, as seen at CumbriaVAG 2011 ,was exceptional.

Bright yellow Beetle looked good parked in the shade at CumbriaVAG , despite the Transformer sticker on the hood!

Not just another cool Beetle, but another from 1972 ... it must have been a good year!

The eagle-eyed amongst you might just conclude that the prefix on this Beetle's registration plate summed up perfectly more than just the car and the weather we enjoyed that day!

Here's another shot of that hot, that hot ... erm, that hot Beetle from earlier!

Just in case anyone was starting to think in between shooting cars at these shows I spent all my time stalking pretty young girls, here's a shot of a young guy ... also eagerly cleaning his pride and joy.
You see, nobody is safe from my prying lens ... I just love to try and capture all aspects of what these shows involve.

Back to sunny Cumbria again and yet another nice looking Beetle, this time a convertible.

Found this gorgeous Golf Rallye tucked away in the corner of the showground.
Would have preferred it with the bonnet down, but the owner wasn't around so I just had to make do.

Here's a shot of that powder blue Golf in its entirety for those that like their old VWs water-cooled.
Must say I liked the colour and stance on this one very much indeed. The colour coordinated wheels were a nice touch too!

Two very lovely examples of VW design sat side by side, but with around 20 years between them.
In the background a pale-yellow Type 3, much loved by the air-cooled fraternity, whilst in the foreground, a slightly modified Mk2 Golf representing the 'dark side' that is the water-cooled world.
