ROMANTICISM

romanticism isn't a mandatory subject
however it can be a good state of mind
for instance
when the moon dances through low clouds
and the insects
attracted
fascinated
turn in circles till they fall exhausted on the bulbs' heat
and the house outline is drawn by the night light
door ajar
from which escapes the genial and anarchic rumour of Chopin's music
heard inside
not so smoothly that doesn't make my skin curl
and swallow hard
with moist eyes
glinting moonlight

o romantismo não é uma disciplina obrigatória
mas pode ser um bom estado de espírito
por exemplo
quando a lua baila por entre nuvens baixas
e os insectos
atraídos
fascinados
volteiam em círculos até caírem exaustos no calor das lâmpadas
e o contorno da casa desenhado pela luz nocturna
porta entreaberta
por onde se escapa o genial e anárquico rumor da música de Chopin
que se ouve lá dentro
não tão suavemente que não me faça encrespar a pele
e engolir em seco
com os olhos húmidos
a cintilar luar
