Have you read it, Armando? It sits waiting for me, a mountain to climb. Sadly though, I feel his work has gently declined from the brilliant New York Trilogy, Moon Palace and The Music of Chance. So many novelists, particularly in this new millennium seem to get caught up in trying to produce gigantic volumes, which all seem to get lavish praise and tend to be purchased but probably unread. I think it’s a neurotic attempt by the writers to compete with the superabundance of our informational environment. I’m open to my mind being changed if you’re enjoying it!

Well, it has taken much more time than I though although, I didn't finish the reading yett! You forgot a couple of other old nice novels like The Book of Illusions, Invisible, Man In The Dark, and The Inner Life of Martin Frost, between others, certainly. As you say the temptation for an extended book in pursuit of Tostoi or other "neurotic" classics, it's an attempt to leave a spiritual will to posterity, otherwise a signal that his writing is on decline. To be honest I'm not appreciating the book so intensely as the previous ones. Anyway it deserves the effort of a reading.
