Type A fire engine "A56" (ΠΣ-3148) of the Greek Fire Service attending a minor incident. This small fire engine is a Mercedes-Benz Vario 815D with a capacity of 1000 lit. of water. The Greek Fire Service frequently deploys type A fire engines to patrol in urban sectors away from fire stations, so they can arrive quickly at the site of a fire. HTO Tower, Thessaloniki. Vintage mailed postcard mailed to the UK in 1972. The tower of Hellenic Telecomunications Organization (HTO - OTE) at the site of Thessaloniki International Exhibition. The tower was designed by architect Alexander Anastasiades and was completed in 1965. Around 1970 it was used to support antennas for a VHF mobile telephone service. Today it houses a rotating coffee shop and cellular telephone facilities of COSMOTE.
