Teazel

Teazel
From the Museum of Our Lord in the Attic in Amsterdam, a very smart way to stop visitors sitting on the antique chairs!

Billathon, Rob, , and 16 other people have particularly liked this photo

Love it , the texture of the leather is perfect against the teasel.

The National Trust also does this (except at Avebury Manor, where visitors are encouraged to try everything out). I don't really mind the teasels. They are often the closest thing to real life amongst all the portraits painted in oils, and sets of silver cutlery, and china, and Chippendale furniture, and roped off, dimly lit areas.
This is an exceptional photograph.

Thanks L.C. Avebury Manor is wonderful. I enjoyed a game of snooker on its table and impressed onlookers with a couple of good shots, then retired to the lounge and read some aged newspapers. Great fun.
I was trying to think of something else you could place on a chair to discourage visitors, but the delicacy with menaces of the teazel seems perfect for the job.
